What roles are available for service providers on the HelperMover Marketplace ?
- Helper: Offers Only Labor assistance for tasks such as loading, unloading, packing, and unpacking. No vehicle usage is required for Helpers. Helpers may be paired with Movers to perform some deliveries that may need vehicles or two-person tasks.
- Mover: Utilizes their vehicles for moving goods and providing delivery and labor services. Movers can use various vehicle types, including sedans, SUVs, passenger vans, Cargo Vans, Pickup trucks, and box trucks (Only accepting applications for movers with large vehicles like Pickup Trucks, Cargo Vans, and/or Box trucks). Movers can provide services as a Mover and as a Helper.
How long does the application approval process take?
- The application process may take time for verification. Providers are encouraged to be patient as their applications are reviewed and approved.
What are the general requirements for applicants?
- Both Helpers and Movers must meet certain criteria, including:
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and current auto insurance (for Movers)
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Pass background and ID checks
- Have a Social Security Number and/or Employer Identification Number (EIN)
- Own an iPhone or Android smartphone with internet and GPS capability
- Be able to lift 75 pounds or more, among other requirements.
Is there a requirement regarding the Service Area for service providers?
- Yes, providers will apply for a specific Service Area, which must be close to their residential address matching the government-issued ID. Applicants should wait until there is availability in an area near their residential address before applying. Can apply for the waiting list ONLY if the service area is available on the application portal to be selected.Join HelperMover Marketplace today, ensuring alignment between your residential address and the selected Service Area for a seamless experience within our community.
Do applicants have to pay any fee in the verification process?
- Yes. Due to mandatory requirements, HelperMover providers must pass background and ID checks.
Background checks are completed through our partner, Checkr. There is a non-refundable $30 fee associated with the background check, and we are unable to waive this fee. Providers can easily earn back the fee upon completing their first task after being verified.
Can I use a background check from another entity?
- To ensure safety and reliability within our community of service providers we cannot accept background checks from another entity. The check must be completed through our partner, Checkr.
Are there specific requirements regarding the vehicles used by Movers?
- Yes, there are specific requirements for Movers. Movers are not permitted to use any vehicle that is rented or borrowed under any circumstances. The vehicles must be registered in the name of the account holder or applicant, and they must have up-to-date car insurance.
